Preface
During my time abroad, I had the opportunity to conduct a research project in London. I got to pick any activity that encouraged me to engage with London culture in some aspect. Of course, I chose an activity that involved my love of reading and shopping. During the process, I explored around ten independent bookstores in several different London boroughs. I researched their history, their connection with London’s culture, and the way that they impact daily life in London for readers. What started as a paper for my professional development evolved into something that has had a profoundly personal impact on me. These bookstores have defined my study abroad experience, and I am so excited to share it with all of you today.
